Description: After serving as a judicial law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court (1982--1985), I have been in the private practice of law at Knox McLaughlin Gornall and Sennett, P.C. since 1985, concentrating on business bankruptcy law and more recently on sports law as well. During that time, I have resolved or litigated virtually every type of legal dispute that can arise in, or that is related to, a business bankruptcy case. This list includes the rejection of a collective bargaining agreement, the sale of numerous businesses, the reorganization of existing businesses (including non-profit corporations), the prosecution of third-party fraud claims and the resolution of a wide variety of real estate issues, including but not limited to oil and gas disputes. This experience has prepared me to resolve difficult issues through mediation in bankruptcy.

Training: I am also registered as a neutral evaluator by the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and successfully completed the required U.S District Court mediation training. Moreover, I have attended mediation CLE to stay abreast of current developments and to improve my mediation skills. There are several other attorneys in my firm who are registered mediators, including the Honorable Sean J. McLaughlin, U.S. District Judge (retired), who are available to co-mediate in appropriate cases. Finally, I am willing to mediate on a pro bono basis, or for a discounted fee, when necessary and appropriate under the circumstances.
