Obtaining Logins to the CM/ECF Live System

If  you are an attorney already filing electronically in another Federal Court, see our expedited process.

Logins to the CM/ECF system can be obtained after the following requirements have been fulfilled:

  1. Logins are currently given only to attorneys.

  2. An attorney must be admitted to the Bar of the Western District of PA, or Pro Hac Vice on a specific case.

  3. An attorney must:

    1. Attend training in this Court, or

    2. Have been granted a login to any Federal Court's CM/ECF system.

  4. The appropriate Registration Form and User Agreement must be completed and mailed to the Court.
(Should be mailed in immediately.) (See link at bottom of page for downloading the form.)

  5. If trained in this Court, complete a set of practice exercises (Evaluation) in our Training Database.
(See link at bottom of page for downloading the evaluation instructions/task list.)

Once all of these conditions have been met, the Court will issue a login to the CM/ECF system.
