Obtaining Logins to CM/ECF
If you have a login to file electronically in any other Federal Court, see our expedited process.
Logins to the CM/ECF system can be obtained after the following requirements have been fulfilled:
Logins are currently given only to attorneys.
An attorney must be admitted to the Bar of the Western District of PA, or Pro Hac Vice on a specific case.
An attorney must:
Attend training in this Court, or
Have been granted a login to any Federal Court's CM/ECF system.
- Attend training in this Court, or
The Registration Form and User Agreement must be completed and mailed to the Court.

If trained in this Court, complete a set of practice exercises (Evaluation) in our Training Database.

Once all of these conditions have been met, the Court will issue a login to the CM/ECF system.
If you do not have a login for filing electronically from any Federal Court... download the Training Registration Form in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word format, complete the form and email it as an attachment to the address listed.
To initiate obtaining an expedited login for an attorney already filing electronically in another Federal Court (Bankruptcy or District) please complete the appropriate form and send it via email to email@example.com Please state the reason for the expedited request in the email. Place the original signed registration form in the mail as an original signature is required. Any questions can be directed to Kathy Theis at 412-644-4917.
